Highway Revelation

Make Straight a Highway

Christians, recently I was in Sunday morning praise and worship, we were singing a great song, the lyrics said “Make Straight a Highway, a path for the Lord.”  We had sung these lyrics before, a truly great song, but today I was tuned in and God gave me a revelation about this.

If you were to make a highway, say the President was going to a remote area, you would figure out a straight path to the destination and then you would tear down the trees, level the ground, bring the low high and the high low.  You wouldn’t care what was there, the things previously built there, you would tear it all down and rebuild for the sake of that purpose.

Christians, that is what God wants to do.  He wants to tear down our ideas, mindsets, plans and purposes that we have built up.  He wants to level our character, which means filling in our low spots and it means taking down any high spots, so He can pave a way, straight and true.  Christians, we NEED to prepare a highway, the Highway of our hearts, we need to clear a path, we need to submit the physical and the spiritual, our flesh and our soul to the sole purpose of preparing for HIS return.   If you allow God, through the Holy Spirit, He will help you, He will cut through, a straight line, leveling off.  It is painful, it is not for the weak or weary, God will do it for YOUR GOOD and HIS PURPOSE, but it may mean letting a lot of things go.

We cannot be half committed, if you let God in to construct this Highway, it is a straight path and it cuts through the heart, God will not weave and wind around your plans, desires, mindsets, emotions.  He understands the times we are living in, He understands His imminent return.  He will prepare the Highway to be ready, so let go, of yourself, your way, accept His will and His way for your life and be amazed at what He does,  In Jesus Name, Amen.

A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the Lord, make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.  And the glory of the Lord will be revealed and all mankind together will see it.  For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”  Isaiah 40:3-5 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord, with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV).
