Christians, being wise is not just having information and sharing it. Being wise is having information and knowing WHEN to share it. God is all about preparing us, equipping us, encouraging us, and enlightening us when we have ears to hear and when we have hearts ready to receive it.
Sometimes we forget about God’s divine timing, purpose, and plan, and we go around like a machine gun: popping off revelation, insights, deep things of God to whomever, whenever. We can go through seasons of discouragement or frustration because people are not listening or changing with the information we shared with them.
I know for myself, I have seen it firsthand. People may come to you…they have come to me. They tell me their problem, frustration, confusion. I know the answer, I have been there before, so instead of listening to what THEY are saying, I start talking, expecting them to start listening to what I AM saying. I think that just because I know the solution to the problem they are having, they should be ready to receive everything I say and accept it on the spot. I have found out that God will allow people to come to you, to have problems you have had, but He allows them to not be ready to receive, not to test them, but to test you.
God has all the answers to all the problems on Earth, but we do not hear Him “machine gun shouting” them down on us from the heavens. Nope. He waits, patiently I might add. He lets us vent, steam, yell, cry, whine…He still waits. Until we humble ourselves and we seek Him, desperate for a solution, willing to obey it fully, then He responds.
In that still small voice, in clear plain language, He speaks to the heart of the issue and gives profound clarity. God is Wisdom. Learn from Him. So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”, John 5:19 (NLT). Let us be conformed to the likeness of Christ and fully embrace the true wisdom that God has for us to steward, for our good and His Glory, In Jesus Name, Amen.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 (NIV)
The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues. Proverbs 17:27-28 (NIV)
Hear counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come. Proverbs 19:20 (AMP)
By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power. Proverbs 24:3-5 (NASB)
For the Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Proverbs 2:6,10 (NIV)
