Christians, have you ever considered how amazing tires are? Little rubber tubes filled with compressed air have the power to lift up cars, trucks, vans, even semi trucks. They are all rolling down the road on compressed air. Think about a flat tire, and how the car is sitting on the rim and if you hook up a compressor you can actually watch air lift your car. Most of the time we do not even think about our tires unless we get a flat or have a slow leak. When we think about our Christian walk, we are filled and lifted and able to walk through this life by the breath of life from God, which He speaks to us in His Word and in our Spirit. One word or inspiration from God can keep us going for weeks, months, years, or even decades. The biggest challenge we face as Christians, is getting a flat tire.
There are many sharp objects on the road of life today, the enemy comes with all sorts of devices trying to puncture our inner man and get the breath of life to leak out of us. He is constantly trying to stop, hinder, or slow down the work we are doing for the Kingdom of God. I know for myself, the enemy has stalled me up many times, even recently, where I felt deflated. I didn’t even know what I was going to write this week. After a day of fasting which was in my mind “repairing the leak,” and a good morning session of prayer, I felt re-inflated and ready to roll, and God showed me this revelation. Thankfully after many years of driving on full tires, I am quick to notice when my tire gets low, I am also good at finding the leak or source of my deflation.
How are you feeling today? Are you aired up and ready to go? Are you feeling slightly deflated? Are you stalled out with a full blown flat tire? Wherever you are, whatever you have done, I want you to know that there is grace and forgiveness, but the key to getting your tire fixed is repentance. Repentance is the key to fixing the source of your leak. If you have an area where you know you have missed it, repentance simply means having sincere regret or remorse. You TURN from the path you were on and you set yourself on God’s path, where the road is smooth and the highway is clear of obstacles and dangers. God’s path is very different from “off roading” in the enemy’s territory. Maybe you didn’t know how far you have turned until you look at yourself and say, “how did I end up here?” If you are on the back roads of life, in the middle of “God knows where” let me tell you that God does know where you are, and He has sent Jesus to patch you up, fill you up, and put you back on the path of life.
Christians, if you are filled up, let me tell you something, God OVER-INFLATES us, He gives us more than we need, why? We are called to go around and fill others up with the overflow of hope in our lives. In my recent test, I had a slow leak, my Spirit man’s light dinged, “low pressure”. I checked myself, repented of what I needed to, and God filled me up, then gave me this revelation to share with others, the overflow of a filled-up life. If you are walking around FULL , encourage those around you. Some people you look at, you can SEE they are deflated. Speak life into them, the breath of life is in you and your words have POWER. Encourage other Christians, at Church, when you are out and about. Speak those words of life to people and watch their eyes light up, their Spirit lift and them start to roll down the road with a little pep in their step!
Lastly, be on the lookout for opportunities to fix a flat. The lost and hurting in this world have full blown flat tires, there is NO air in them at all. They are separated from God and they are going nowhere fast. When God brings you an opportunity to minister to a lost soul, make sure you fix the flat before you pump up the tire. Leading them into repentance literally recreates their “inner tube” or inner man. Their current inner tube, is shredded, beyond a patch or repair. If we do not lead them in repentance, we essentially puff them up with good words, then as soon as we are gone, the life goes right out the shredded parts of their life and they are stuck where they were. When they are re-created, they have a brand new life that you can pump up and fill with edification, encouragement, and hope…they will be rolling down the right path, lifted and loved.
Wherever you are, whatever your current air level status, let’s pray together and get filled up, pray with me. Father God, we thank you for your Holy Spirit, who lets us know the status of how filled up we are at all times. Father we repent of our actions that cause us to deflate, we turn from them and ask you to patch us up, to help us keep on your straight and narrow path, which is free from danger, and we ask now Father God that you would fill us up again, pour out a fresh outpouring of your Spirit, speak to us, fill us up to overflowing that we might then go out and share the overflow to the deflated world around us. We love you and we thank you for this, in Jesus name, Amen.
Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person. Genesis 2:7 (NLT)
For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4 (NLT)
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. II Corinthians 7:10 (NLT)
Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11 (AMP)
I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Philippians 1:9-11 (NLT)
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NLT)
