Salvation is a Gift Pt. 3: Opposition to Unpacking

Christians, we have talked the past two weeks about the gift of salvation and how we need to open and unpack it.  However, we must ask ourselves, if it sounds so simple to do, why are so few Christians living up to their potential?  The answer is; there is strong opposition we face when unpacking our salvation and we must be aware of the enemy’s strategy.

If you believe God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as well as all the angels in heaven exist and are for us, then you must also believe that Satan and all of his demons exist and are strongly against us.  Take heart, the enemy we face has been defeated.  Through Adam and Eve, sin entered into this world, the enemy came to them and deceived them, causing the first sin.  He still works in this manner today.

God’s design for man was to rule and reign with Him on this earth.  Sin entered the world, messed up the Garden, and caused a divide between man and God.  Salvation is the key to reconciling God’s design back to Him.  You see, we are still designed to rule and reign with God on this earth, all power, authority, victory, and dominion was redeemed on the cross and is available for anyone who receives the gift of salvation.  So why do so many Christians live defeated?

The answer is the opposition.  If you’ve received the gift, the enemy will try to distract you with sin, temptations, trials, and the pleasures of life. You will feel like you have no time to unpack your salvation.  The problem is, the tools necessary to defeat sin, overcome your tests and trials, and operate out of self control, all reside in the box.  If you do not unpack it, you cannot be victorious.  The enemy is known as a lion roaming around looking for someone to devour (I Peter 5:8).  He will only be able to devour you, if you have not unpacked your salvation.

So what is the key?  How do I unlock the chains and live a life fearless for the kingdom of God?  It all starts with the Word of God.  When applied correctly, the Word of God will transform your life.  The Word of God is alive, active, and waiting for you to claim your new life.  What the Word of God says you have, YOU HAVE, what the Word of God says you are, YOU ARE,  The more you accept it and proclaim it, you will find yourself standing in VICTORY over every area the enemy once held you captive.

The enemy has been defeated, this must be firmly understood.  He and his demons have no power or authority over a believer, we cannot be separated from God, but this does not stop the enemy from making us feel far from His presence.  There is no better way to be close to God, then to read His Word.  Read what He says about you, how He looks at you.  Begin to speak over your life what He says about you.  If you are able to unpack your salvation, and if you are able to stand firm on who you are in Christ, you will live a victorious life and fulfill who God created you to be, in Jesus name, Amen.

Check out the Victory Statement under the Resources Tab.  Proclaim it!

The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.  John 10:10 (NASB)

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12 (NASB)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].  Proverbs 18:21 (AMP)

Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.  Romans 8:17 (NIV)
