Christians, through my trials and testing, God has shown me a process on how He works in our lives and the process that follows. God is passionate about us, about His son, about creation and His will for each and every one of us. How do we get passionate about Him, His son, His will for our lives?
Once you get saved, you should notice that God gives you Convictions about certain things. Whether it is things not to watch on TV or movies, music not to listen to, places not to go, foods not to eat, or things you SHOULD watch (teachings), Christian music you should listen to, places you should go (Church, bible study, mid-week service).
He wants us to be aware, to be informed, sometimes His convictions are things guiding us to different ends. To be financially secure, He might convict you to tithe, to have a budget and to stick to it. To be healthy, He might lead you to eat sensible, start eating or avoid eating certain foods, and to exercise to stay in shape to do your calling. To fulfill your calling, to be a good spouse or parent, God can give you convictions in any area of your life.
I have found that when God will give me convictions, then it’s usually paired with Education about those convictions. Many times before I even begin to walk in them, He shows me the importance behind having the convictions. I get excited whether it’s waiting to start a new routine, or implement a new budget, or start eating certain foods. God wants you to feel the conviction and be educated to make the next process go smoothly: Application.
When you start to apply the principles, the convictions and revelations God gives you paired with your new found education, you start to excel. That is when you begin to see the benefits from the plans God has for your life. Sometimes there is a delay in the application to build up your desire, so when He releases you to do it, you function very well in it.
When we apply convictions or principles to our lives and we see the fruit from the result of it, we become Passionate. You can tell when you are passionate because your desire shifts from implementing these ideals in your life, to sharing your passion with others. It will be hard for people to believe that your passion, once started out as a conviction and something that felt constrictive to your physical man. With the proper process of education and application, the conviction becomes your passion and it is not constrictive, it is Constructive.
God is a good God, He knows what is best, not what is pretty good, or semi-okay. He has the absolute best for us! If God is leading you to a conviction, embrace the process. It might be long and difficult, but if you really press into it, you will become passionate about it and you will ultimately grow closer to your Father’s heart. He will lead you into all truth, from Conviction through Education, to Application, where it becomes your Passion! God loves passionate servants, In Jesus Name, Amen.
So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31 (AMP)
And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement. John 16:8 (NASB)
Hold onto instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Proverbs 4:13 (NIV)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalms 32:8 (NIV)
But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. James 1:22 (NASB)
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor (passion) serving the Lord. Romans 12:12 (NIV) (emphasis added)
